The situation
Over two and a half years, I delivered end-to-end Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reporting for a large Australian company operating across more than 15,000 sites globally, one of the most complex reporting environments I've worked in.
What I did
The work covered the full reporting cycle:
- consolidating and verifying utility billing data across all sites
- managing data requests and follow-up across 80+ suppliers
- maintaining up-to-date emissions factors and calculations
- producing GRI-aligned reports and supporting CDP and ASRS requirements
- managing the process through annual third-party assurance, including working with the assurance team throughout review and submission
The outcome
The engagement ran year on year, with continuous improvements including structured project planning and progressive automation of manual steps. Assurance was passed every year.
This kind of work looks straightforward on paper but falls apart without rigorous process management, clear supplier relationships and technical accuracy under deadline pressure. I've delivered it repeatedly, at scale.
